FRIDAY RESOURCEFUL PLAYS

STARTING PITCHER

Pittsburgh PiratesFrancisco Liriano – Liriano (PIT) has held the core group of Rockies to a .222 mark over 31 at-bats and gets them at home, where we have the Rockies scoring just 2.9 runs tonight against the Bucs. Durability has been Francisco’s problem of late, going at least seven innings in just one of his last nine starts. The Pirates are a huge favorite to win this game, however, which should account for a stronger result.

POSITION PLAYERS

Tampa Bay RaysJohn Jaso – We’re probably on Jaso tonight on FanDuel at 2.3k and a 3-for-7 BvP number here against Volquez, of the Royals, which includes a homer and a pair of walks. Tampa Bay has one of the lowest offensive projections tonight, but Jaso has been a producer in this spot for several weeks now.

Los Angeles DodgersChase Utley – The Dodgers’ Utley seems like the top bargain play at 2B on FD at just 2.4k. He comes in hitting just .211, but we think his average will rise around stronger support and in with Rollins. We have L.A. scoring 3.55 runs tonight here at home. Chase has looked sharp since a stint on the DL. Ethier is a main OF consideration, especially with his 9-for-27 with two homers and five walks against Cubs’ starter Hammel.

Philadelphia PhilliesAaron Altherr – Altherr against homer-prone Kennedy tonight at home where the Phils are expected to score 3.95 runs as a small dog tonight. Aaron has lit up the tote in four of his six games since become eligible on FanDuel, and he looked sharp against last night with a couple of doubles in the extra-inning loss to the Mets.
