STARTING PITCHERS
We prefer a value selection tonight on the mound, staying away from higher-salaried pitchers on this card.
POSITION PLAYERS
Andrew McCutchen – Cutch is our top OF recommendation, as a couple of back-to-back 0-fers aren’t going to get us off of the fact that he has hit four career HRs off of Milwaukee starter Fiers.
Victor Martinez – Victor gets our top nod at catcher tonight thanks in large part to his 9-for-18 lifetime against DET starter Simon, with five extra-base hits and seven RBI.
Adam Jones – With an 11-for-31 career mark against LHP Mark Buehrle, Jones could break a 1-for-11 skid to start the season against the Jays this afternoon.
Jose Abreu – Jose has had a pair of doubles so far in three games and we know he mashes LHP, so we like him tonight in a big way against the Twins’ Milone.
Jose Reyes – The Blue Jays’ SS had two hits last night and carries a 10-for-28 lifetime batting mark against Bud Norris. Also a major consideration because he has a lower salary than Tulowitzki.
Pablo Sandoval – Boston’s Sandoval has destroyed Nathan Eovaldi when they were in the NL, as Panda is 8-for-11 with three doubles, a HR and nine RBI lifetime.
