Giles actually has all 3 options remaining. His contract was purchased in June of 2014 and he has never been sent back down.
Fixed. Thanks. Hadn’t entered the formulas on that page to automatically pull from the database. It’s doing that now.
Mccullers in AAA?
This projection assumes that Feldman is healthy and will not be moved to ‘pen. If all 5 of Keuchel, McHugh, Fiers, Fister, Feldman are healthy heading into the season, McCullers in AAA is likely, in my opinion. I still have McCullers projected to make 26 starts. Just not in early April. No. 6 starters are valuable and sometimes better to have them work on regular rest in AAA until needed.
McCullers is a number 2 or 3 starter on this team, i strongly disagree with your assessment of him starting in AAA. Otherwise, i find this chart very well done and a great source of information
Maybe 2nd or 3rd best starter, but not the No. 2 or 3 starter, on paper, in regards to the Opening Day roster. If everyone is healthy, this is the best way to preserve the pitching depth and not overwork their youngest and least experienced starter. I still have him projected to make 27 starts even if he starts in the minors. And he could very well be the No. 2 or 3 starter if they make it to the playoffs. It’s a long season and they’ll need at least 7-8 starting pitchers to get through it. Thanks for the feedback, Jack.
Astros trying out Tucker at 1b in Kissammee.
Saw that. I imagine it’s just to increase his versatility since the roster is so deep and it’s hard to get AB’s. They have so many options at 1B (Singleton on Opening Day, A.J. Reed and Tyler White could arrive in ’16). Marwin is current backup but wouldn’t hurt to have Tucker as another option
Carlos Gomez is listed twice (Not on DL) anymore
Thanks for catching that, Stephen. Amazing that they have 0 players on the DL. Almost impossible these days.
You have the Royals players for this page in the Power Rankings portion
Singleton did not play for MLB Astros in 2016.
Please consider adding RP Chris Cotton and Albert Minnis
