Mauer, 35, is one of the rare players to have spent his entire career with one organization. The 1st overall pick in the 2001 draft, Mauer made his MLB debut at age 20 on April 5, 2004 and is calling it quits after 15 terrific seasons. He’ll retire with a career .306 batting average and 2123 hits, an AL MVP in 2009, three batting titles, six All-Star selections, three Gold Gloves as a catcher and four playoff appearances.
