MLB: Opening Day DFS Resourceful Plays

By Ramon Scott, @rsstreams

Oakland Athletics LogoSonny Gray – Sonny provides the less-pricey option for your opening-day fade of the top aces. While we hear some are ready to take the Texas lineup against Gray, consider that Adrian Beltre is 2-for-15, Leonys Martin is 2-for-17, Prince Fielder is 0-for-6 and Mitch Moreland is 0-for-5 BvP.

Miami Marlins LogoHenderson Alvarez – The MIA starter is our other recommended value play, as he faces a Braves’ lineup which is surely headed for a down year. Alvarez is a modest -125 favorite overnight with the game total at 7.

Milwaukee Brewers LogoJonathan Lucroy – The Brewers’ catcher is 6-for-12 with three doubles against Rockies SP Kyle Kendrick. The Milwaukee lineup is stacked and is expected to score the most runs of any NL team on Monday.

Milwaukee Brewers LogoScooter Gennett – Scooter is 5-for-6 with a homer off Kendrick, so we like him to score at least two runs for just 3k in the expected highest-scoring game of the day in the National League.

Los Angeles Dodgers LogoHowie Kendrick – The Dodgers’ second baseman has a good track record in the American League off James Shields, going 14-for-26 with four doubles. Run production will be at a premium here, however, in the game against the Padres.

Cincinnati Reds LogoMarlon Byrd – The Reds’ outfielder is 5-for-10 with four RBI career BvP against Francisco Liriano of the Pirates. He is listed at 2.9k on FanDuel. Cincinnati is expected to score at least four runs in the opener.

Seattle Mariners LogoDustin Ackley -The Seattle outfielder is 10-for 29-career against Angels SP Jered Weaver. We think he is a suppressed price to open the season at 3k at FanDuel.

Detroit Tigers LogoYeonis Cespedes – Yoenis has three hits in seven ABs with a HR off of Twins SP Phil Hughes and we like him to see good pitches in the DET lineup. It’s always worth a trip to the Cespedes Family BBQ for just 3.9k at FanDuel.
