NBA: Friday DFS Morning Lineup

Some teams are tanking and some teams must win. Some players are resting while some players are injured.

With a varying array of situations leading to fluctuations in playing minutes to many stars, and the emergence of some young stars getting their late-season chance to shine, several price discrepancies are starting to occur at the major sites, which could lead to completely different cash game at tournament lineups tonight.

A balanced lineup – instead of a stars and scrubs team – could be your ticket at one site, while a couple of high-priced superstars and some well-researched value plays could be the answer at the other.

Regardless of approach, a thorough check of the late injury and lineup report will likely be necessary in order to make the winning move on Friday.

Derrick FavorsNew Orleans’ Tyreke Evans, San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard and Utah’s Derrick Favors (pictured) could comprise your balanced approach, but you also would be smart to find room for one or two of them in your superstar lineup if you can.

They are three guys you absolutely want in your lineups tonight regardless of the virtual venue.

Tyreke is getting great run right now and faces his former team at home against the seemingly defenseless Kings.

Kawhi can be played at both sites, as well, and has been the only fantasy option out of Pop’s stable for weeks, it seems.

Derrick can match the output of some of the others listed at the position for a far less price. He’s not a great value at DK, but it’s such a good matchup, he still may be considered there anyway. Caution is that his production seems to be increased with the absence of Gordon Hayward, which is expected to end tonight. DEN has been weak against PFs. He is a must-play at FanDuel.

If you can’t get Favs in at DK, then you can move into the deep discount zone in order to move up elsewhere.

As far as your Stars’ lineup, picking the best one might be a matter of preference.

Cleveland Cavaliers LogoCleveland’s LeBron James is the name we’re going after with just a 10.2k salary, he is just a steal at FanDuel tonight at BKN.

New Orleans Hornets LogoThe Pelicans’ Anthony Davis at DK is a very good price at 11.2, while up to 12.4 at FanDuel, but he’s so strong right now, it might not matter.

Sacramento Kings LogoThe Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins is more than reasonable at DK at 9.6k, but probably too high now at FanDuel at over 11k, so that’s out of our range there.

Houston Rockets LogoHouston’s James Harden has a blowout risk against visiting short-handed Minnesota, so we look to stay off The Beard this night.

Atlanta Hawks LogoStay away from Hawks, as well, as they are expected to start resting players. If Al Horford is confirmed as a started, then he is selectable, as he is pretty inexpensive at 7.4k at DK. Horford has been a money burner, however, in six of his last eight appearances.

Miami Heat LogoMiami’s Dwayne Wade may need rest, as well, on Friday night.

We’re down on LaMarcus Aldridge at PHX, as his general hand discomfort could be leading to a downtick, Kenneth Faried at home vs. defensive-minded Utah, and Blake Griffin on the road at Philly with blowout potential.

Houston Rockets LogoDonatas Motiejunas and Josh Smith of HOU are both GTD, but with Dwight Howard on limited minutes, either could still be a play. If either one of these guys are out, the other man is a play on Friday. Both are better plays at FanDuel.

Washington Wizards LogoWashington’s Martell Webster and Rasual Butler could get a call if doubtful Bradley Beal is out. They will get minutes there if the WAS shooter .misses the game
